Hope Grows When Communities Come Together

Dear Friends,

August may have brought the rainy season, but it certainly didn't stop the work.

Thanks to our dedicated teams, local communities and continued support from people like you, 101 dogs and cats were sterilised in August. We also celebrated the success of our first event in a new location, rescued a young dog named Soren, and continued working towards our goal of bringing sterilisation programmes to even more communities across Thailand.

🐾 101 animals sterilised despite the rainy season

August is part of Thailand's rainy season, and the weather can make organising and attending sterilisation events more challenging.

Despite this, 101 dogs and cats were spayed or neutered throughout the month.

Every animal sterilised helps prevent unwanted litters and reduces the number of puppies and kittens born into uncertain lives on the streets.

While the numbers may be affected by the weather, the need never stops.

That is why we will continue organising regular events throughout the year and working to reach as many animals as possible.

Meet Soren: A young life saved from the pineapple fields

During one of our spay and neuter events, we found a young male dog alone in the pineapple fields.

His name is now Soren.

Like so many dogs living in rural areas, Soren was trying to survive on his own. But during our work in the area, we were able to bring him to safety.

Soren is a reminder that our sterilisation events are about so much more than numbers.

When we enter communities, we see the reality facing street animals every day. Sometimes we meet an animal who simply cannot be left behind.

For Soren, that day became the beginning of a new life.

A successful first event in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan

August marked an exciting new chapter for Project Street Dogs Thailand.

We held our first spay and neuter event in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan, near the beautiful Ao Manao Beach.

And what an incredible success it was.

The most beautiful part of the day was seeing the community come together.

People brought their own beloved dogs and cats, but many also brought street dogs and cats from their communities so they too could receive sterilisation.

It was a powerful reminder that lasting change happens when communities come together and recognise that the welfare of street animals is everyone's responsibility.

Because of the success of this first event, we will now return to Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan every second month.

We cannot wait to continue working with this wonderful community and helping even more animals.

The rain may slow us down, but it won't stop us

The rainy season brings challenges for both animals and the people trying to help them.

Heavy rain can make travel difficult and can affect how many animals are able to reach our clinics.

But even when conditions are difficult, the need for sterilisation remains.

That is why we continue.

101 animals were helped in August, despite the rain.

And every one of those animals represents fewer unwanted litters and a healthier future for street dogs and cats.

Our mission is growing

Our work in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan is only one step in a much bigger journey.

We are continuing our mission to expand our spay and neuter programmes into other provinces across Thailand.

There are countless communities where affordable and accessible sterilisation is desperately needed.

With continued support, we can organise more events, reach new communities and help even more animals.

Our vision is simple:

More communities reached. More animals sterilised. Less suffering on Thailand's streets.
